Océ writes the book on digital book printing
Today, Océ is one of the market leaders in digital book printing. Each month, millions of books are produced on-demand on Océ systems around the world. To communicate our strong position in this market, Océ published and presented its own digital book, about "The Book", entitled “Roll Over Gutenberg” at drupa 2008, the largest graphic arts show in the industry.
An industry earthquake
In the 1950s, the American rock & roll legend Chuck Berry wrote his famous hit “Roll Over Beethoven”, a seminal song about the new era of rock & roll. What rock & roll did for the music industry, digital book printing is doing for the publishing industry. Océ is leading this transition.
Going digital: a 21st century revolution
The printing of books on demand enables book printers to cost-effectively print books in shorter runs. It’s giving rise to trends and possibilities like personalization. And it enables legions of self-publishers to bring books to market that might never have made it with conventional technology.
