Innovation Beyond the Ordinary

Read the NY Times before New Yorkers

Every day Océ prints thousands of newspapers digitally at locations around the globe. This opens up new markets and new possibilities for newspaper publishers. The latest editions are available throughout the world on the same day — and that’s good for the readers of course.

Spreading the news

Some of the world’s most famous newspapers are printed digitally by Océ. Every day we print titles like the Guardian, the Nikkei and the Sydney Morning Herald at centers in London, New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Singapore and Zurich. As a result, publishers get the news to their global readers on the same day. In the case of the New York Times, readers in London can even get the latest edition several hours before New Yorkers.

A global network

Newspapers are printed with Océ’s latest continuous feed technology. With many thousand installed worldwide Océ can offer the best network and identify suitable newspaper print sites for publishers around the globe. A new sheet-fed newspaper production solution powered by the Océ VarioPrint 6000 will improve flexibility further. Able to print on real newsprint paper of 50 gm2 and an over-sized format of 488x320mm, it is ideal for very short runs in remote locations.

Only the beginning

Océ is the global leader in short-run digital newspaper printing. We focus on innovations that open up new opportunities for publishers. That means full color printing, increasingly faster systems and flexible business models. It’s only the beginning of what Océ digital technology can do for newspapers.
